Shot in brilliant sun in Santa Fe, NM, these glossy, colorful pots presented a bold graphic image. It wasn’t until I viewed this photo on my monitor that I noticed the bright purple splotch of color on the lower-right red pot. (Blue into Red = Purple). And this was light, not paint!

Shot at night with a flash, multiple layers of paint on a sailboat keel (out of the water) have rendered an iridescent abstract image.
On land, oxidized mineral streaks drip below a sailboat’s pale yellow waterline. The boat’s rudder is seen protruding in the lower right corner. The abstraction of the streaks pleasantly confuses the reality of the image.
Water rivulets course down the keel of a sailboat being readied for launch. Multiple paint layers create an abstraction while the seemingly concave rivulets provide a 3D illusion.
Silhouetted against a blue sky, the bow of a sailboat “on-the-hard” for winter storage, presents a colorful graphic. Black body, red waterlines, and oxidized mineral streaks on a green hull. Awarded First Prize in the 2012 Syracuse NY Arts Festival.
