Necessarily ever-vigilant, a sailboat attempts to outrun the approaching storm. A late afternoon sky and a dark, dense cloud cover provided the sepia-toned coloration. A digital “watercolor” filter has been applied here to produce a more “painterly” presentation.

Sunlight reflections dance on the white hull and blue waterline of a sailboat. The graceful arc of the bow has been intentionally included in the composition in order to guide the viewer in discerning the reality of the piece.

Colorful rust streaks weave mesmerizing patterns and colors on the side of an abandoned Landing Craft. Found in a boatyard in Watkins Glen, NY, this craft was used in the evacuation of the American Embassy in Beirut in 1976.
